I used to wonder why I get so uncomfortable when I am in a dirty environment that it gives me unrest. All I can think of at that time is to get it cleaned and that is only when I can feel relaxed. I used to think something was wrong with me especially when I see the way some people don't mind being in a dirty environment but I realised that a healthy environment is well-connected to our mental state.
This is one aspect of our lives that needs to be addressed because most people don't pay attention to it. Your environment has a lot to do with your mental state.
Personally, I feel relaxed mentally when I am in a clean environment. I can think clearly, I am happier and I get ideas very fast. Sometimes some people don't even know the reason why they are sad or depressed. Look at your environment, your surroundings. When you wake up in the morning, what do you see? A dirty room? A piled up dirty dishes, a heap of clothes that you haven't washed for weeks or a messed up toilet. These are not beautiful to behold. They disturb the mind and if you are the type that is not bothered about these things then there is an issue. You can't be so uncomfortable in a dirty environment and you think life is beautiful.
Aside from the dirty environment, the choice of colours matter in your home or any abode. There are some colours that don't give joy and make the house or the room very full. Bright colours are good in the home. It's important to choose colours that promote comfort, relaxation, and positive feelings while being mindful of excessive exposure to colours that may lead to stress, anxiety, or irritation. By creating a balance of colours that promote tranquillity and positivity, our homes can become our sanctuaries of peace and calm. use
Research has shown that a clean environment can have a significant impact on our mental health. For instance, a study conducted by the University of California found that people who worked in an organised and tidy workspace were more productive, efficient, and had lower stress levels compared to those working in a cluttered environment.
Furthermore, a clean environment can improve our productivity and focus. When our space is clutter-free, we're better able to concentrate on the task at hand. This is especially important if you work from home, where distractions can be abundant. A clean and organised space will help you stay focused and efficient throughout the day.
Overall, a clean environment can positively impact our mental health in numerous ways. It can reduce anxiety and stress, promote feelings of calm and well-being, and improve our productivity and focus. So, the next time you're feeling overwhelmed, take a few minutes to tidy up your space. Your mind (and mental health) will thank you for it!
